What do you get when you mix tennis, pinball, and a side-scrolling platformer? You get FlingSmash, an upcoming Wii title that’s being developed by Artoon.

The basics: you’ll use Wii MotionPlus to swing and smash a tiny fruit-with-hair-looking creature named “Zip” across an ever-scrolling level filled with enemies, blocks, and more. Zip flies across the screen, bouncing off everything in sight. The goal is to rack up as many points as possible (and pick up medals) as you near the stage’s end.

Announced at last year’s E3 as Span Smasher, the title has gone through a few changes, according to Nintendo. Previously, the title was stated to only support Wii MotionPlus. Now, FlipSmash requires it, due to some changes in level design that Nintendo states demanded

The Xbox LIVE Avatar store needs Nolan North masks. Period. But while we wait for the anointed one to receive his digital due, we wouldn’t mind dressing up our digital likeness as a Sith Apprentice. Or a Storm Trooper. Or as a vapid Imperial pilot broad.

Perhaps in celebration of the latest Star Wars: The Force Unleashed DLC release, the Hoth mission pack, LucasArts has bombarded the Avatar Marketplace with all sorts of game-related clothing — all of which you can catch a digital peek at via the LucasArts Workshop. We know you want to say, “Oh, Avatar clothing is soooo stupid!” But we also know you want it. Admit it. It’s OK to want something.
