Classic Atari 2600 game Haunted Home getting 3D update
Posted by admin in Technology on July 16th, 2010
The Atari 2600 classic Haunted House is getting the makeover treatment, Atari has announced this day. The title is being “re-imagined” for Wii, Xbox LIVE Arcade, and Computer download.
The title isn’t a direct port or really an upgrade, instead a 3D title that “pays homage” to the classic. It’s also a bit of a sequel — gamers play as the grandchildren of the original characters who were lost in the early-80s title, exploring the Graves Mansion and fending off otherworldly baddies. Atari says the game will feature varied environments, hidden treasures, puzzles, and boss battles. (Please let one of them be a giant spider.)
Haunted Home is out this September. But for best results, I’d advocate not playing it until Halloween.

Rumor: Leaked images show updated Xbox 360 dashboard
Posted by admin in Technology on July 16th, 2010
Project Natal gets an official name in Kinect, the Xbox 360 gets a re-branding refresh. What’s next, an updated look for the Xbox 360 dashboard?
If images leaked by the French site Logic Sunrise are legit, we’ll be seeing some minor tweaks when with a dashboard refresh than might make an appearance when Kinect ships later this year. The images show what a streamlined dashboard that doesn’t look that different than what we have now, save for a new color scheme, harder edges, and a superior use of space.
The images also show a “Natal Setup” screen, which indicates that the images may be dated; it’s possible that these may be early concept designs for a dashboard that could see even more changes.
At E3 this year, we did see a similar dashboard look during some demos, both on the floor and behind-closed-doors. Personally, I like the new look and color scheme. It has a tighter, cleaner feel.

Conan, NBA Street Homecourt hit Games on Demand
Posted by admin in Technology on July 16th, 2010
Holy hell! Nihilistic’s Conan is now available for download on Xbox 360 Games on Demand!
This third-person action is great in that “b-movie” way — hilariously delivered dialogue… over-the-top situations, including topless slave women and dismembering enemies… basically everything I’ve ever wanted in a game! I loved it for what it was, and it’s $19.99, which is about how much it should cost.
Oh, and NBA Street Homecourt is available, too. It’s $19.99 as well, and doesn’t feature any topless slave women or mutilation. Instead, you just play basketball. But LeBron James is in it, and mentioning his name just made this article more attractive to Google. So there you go.
