Game Room gets Gyruss, Barnstorming, and more

Game Room gets Gyruss, Barnstorming, and more screenshot

I’m still struggling to associate Game Room with Wednesday, even after all these weeks of game additions. In case you couldn’t tell, that’s, indeed, my passive-aggressive way of saying maybe you should skip straight to the good stuff, guys. Here’s what we’re looking at for today:

  • Fishing Derby (Atari 2600)
  • Barnstorming (Atari 2600)
  • Quadrun (Atari 2600)
  • Gyruss (Arcade)
  • Hover Force (Intellivision)

Gyruss is the clear winner this week, although it is also offered on Xbox LIVE Arcade, as is usually the case for the more notable games. It’s got Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D minor, however, which is multiple kinds of awesome.

Prior to E3, DJ Hero 2 developer Freestyle Games’ Jamie Jackson stated that the sequel would feature a huge artist list, packed with even more popular artists than the first game. The barometer for this popularity he stated, was YouTube — he stated the artists on the soundtrack received over 1.2 billion hits on YouTube.

Time to put that to the test: Entertainment Weekly has revealed the name of every artists to be feature in the upcoming game. It’s over 100 names, including 2Pac, The Chemical Brothers, Estelle, Snoop Dogg, Salt N Pepa, Lady GaGa, and more. The RZA, who’s been rumored to appear in the upcoming game, even has a track on the list.

You can find the full list after the jump. GameStop has DJ Hero 2 pegged for an October 19 release, but Activision will only commit to the more general Q4 release.
